Josie Madeline Grove passed away peacefully with grace and dignity at home in the arms of her family
after a two-and-a-half-year battle with leukaemia. As she had wished, she died at home with her
family.

From the moment she discovered that her treatment had failed she wanted to help other children with
cancer. Through the Strength, Courage and the happiness that shone from within her she became an
inspiration to thousands of people.
She created Josie's dragonfly (a silver pendant )as a lasting legacy so that her fundraising could
continue and grow after she had gone.
Josie's Dragonfly Trust now makes a huge difference to other Children & teenagers with Cancer

Her family would like to thank all of those who gave what can only be described as overwhelming
support during her final months and which helped her to carry on during the difficult times.

It was Josie's wish that she be remembered as the girl who was always smiling.

She will be dearly missed.

My Darling Josie,

We have said goodbye to your earthly body,
But we know that your spirit still walks beside us,
Holding our hands, laughing and loving us the way you always did.

From the day you were born you lit up our lives
And you shone so brightly that you touched a thousand hearts.
You gave us so much more than we could ever have given you.

June says that you chose us for your family,
You must have known that no-one could love you more.
So Thank you Josie, you made us so very proud.

Now your work here is done. You are safe in Gods arms,
Free to run barefoot in the grass,
To swim in the sea and to float on the breeze.

So have fun sweetheart
You’re going to be a real cool Angel!

Love you more.

I watched this brave girl on tv...

T o the friends & Family of Josie, I don't know you or Josie but I watched with my Mum the documentary on the tv, Can't remember if it was Trevor McDonald's Tonight programme, anyway it was a little while before she passed on wasn't it?
Me and my Mum were totally amazed at her courage where she was speaking at home saying she wanted to stop her treatment, she seemed not a complainer, just got on with it type of girl... I 'll never forget that, I'm just sad she's passed on now but may she be at peace away from all that horrible pain & suffering.I will sadly let my Mum know that Josie has gone to a better world now, may my friend Kelly Wedmore & Grandad Dennis Dunster welcome Josie in Heaven. They both have a site here, feel free to pop by and light a candle for them xxxx Sleep peacefully Josie, hope all family & friends take care xxxxx

Dear Josie

Right now, you are on your final way to the angels.
We wanted you to know that we feel honoured and blessed that we were part of your life. A life that ended too soon, but was meaningful and inspiring until the last day.
You are such an unique person and you will always have a place in our hearts.
Josie, rest in peace, without pain and in a beautiful place until one day, we'll meet again.
XXX

I didn't know Josie, but what a very brave young lady to suffer so much and still wake up smiling, she will be missed by all who knew her but rest assured she is in no more pain and God will look after her until she meets her family again.

one brave girl

Beautiful memories
Are wonderful things,
They last till the longest day,
They never wear out,
They never get lost,
And can never be given away.
To some you may be forgotten,
To others a part of the past.
But to those who loved and lost you,
Your memory will always last.
