Josie Madeline Grove passed away peacefully with grace and dignity at home in the arms of her family
after a two-and-a-half-year battle with leukaemia. As she had wished, she died at home with her
family.
From the moment she discovered that her treatment had failed she wanted to help other children with
cancer. Through the Strength, Courage and the happiness that shone from within her she became an
inspiration to thousands of people.
She created Josie's dragonfly (a silver pendant )as a lasting legacy so that her fundraising could
continue and grow after she had gone.
Josie's Dragonfly Trust now makes a huge difference to other Children & teenagers with Cancer

Her family would like to thank all of those who gave what can only be described as overwhelming
support during her final months and which helped her to carry on during the difficult times.
It was Josie's wish that she be remembered as the girl who was always smiling.
She will be dearly missed.
My Darling Josie,
We have said goodbye to your earthly body,
But we know that your spirit still walks beside us,
Holding our hands, laughing and loving us the way you always did.
From the day you were born you lit up our lives
And you shone so brightly that you touched a thousand hearts.
You gave us so much more than we could ever have given you.
June says that you chose us for your family,
You must have known that no-one could love you more.
So Thank you Josie, you made us so very proud.
Now your work here is done. You are safe in Gods arms,
Free to run barefoot in the grass,
To swim in the sea and to float on the breeze.

i only wish i had of had a chance to say goodbye or please dont go,to my son but you see he hung himself and i struggle every day did it hurt ,did he get strangled first or did his neck break first,did he try to save himself,cause it was on the foot of a hill right beside the road,the hill was slippy,i know that cause i fell at his feet,did he try to walk backwards but just couldnt get a grip with his trainers cause it was so slippery,DID HE CHANGE HIS MIND BUT HE WAS AT THE POINT OF NO RETURN.i wish i had one more day with him,too hold him so close and say i love you sweetheart,you have always got me to lean on,i sleep with his picture every night and stay in my kitchen every day ,i have a now 5 month old baby son called aj and he loved his big brother,i want time reversed and my one chance of saving him cause i would never of let him walk out that door ever.im sorry ,delete this from your page i dont think i have left it on the right one ,a distraught mother

This week I sold Dragonflies at your school in Thailand.
The Lady next to me put up her sign. It was a mass of Dragonflies (though she was selling table mats)
it made me smile,I knew you were standing beside me.
People came & told me how they remembered you and some said how you inspired them and how your bravery had helped them through difficult times.
I'm so very proud of you darling. I love you so much. I miss you so much XXX

Touched my heart
I found looking at your site this was the hardest one and touched my heart and hurt and im no relation. The inspiration she has shone is mindblowing. I feel she was one of gods angels sent down to do a job and to pass her love and light and touch everyones heart, which i believe she did easily. All my love to you and your family xxxx

Even thought we didn't know you personally, you are in our thoughts for being such a brave and couragous person. We know how hard it must be for your family and friends as we have experienced this loss too. In memory of your beautiful life, we were so touched at your determination in helping others, we decided in a mark of respect to you; today we ran the race for life down at Gosforth. We have raised nearly £250 and would lilke to donate it to your charity. Rest in peace, all our love, michelle and sherelle fowler x

Today we celebrated your 2nd Birthday in Heaven & Charlie's 2nd Birthday on earth. He had such a lovely time. You were right, Charlie's Birthday helps to make this a happy day, but I've been thinking of you every moment......Thinking what a beautiful 18yr old you would be.
I wonder if you are even more beautiful now, than when you first became an Angel.
Georgia & Charlotte came over to celebrate today with us. I showed them the Lilly garden we made & your Arbor.
