Josie Madeline Grove passed away peacefully with grace and dignity at home in the arms of her family
after a two-and-a-half-year battle with leukaemia. As she had wished, she died at home with her
family.
From the moment she discovered that her treatment had failed she wanted to help other children with
cancer. Through the Strength, Courage and the happiness that shone from within her she became an
inspiration to thousands of people.
She created Josie's dragonfly (a silver pendant )as a lasting legacy so that her fundraising could
continue and grow after she had gone.
Josie's Dragonfly Trust now makes a huge difference to other Children & teenagers with Cancer

Her family would like to thank all of those who gave what can only be described as overwhelming
support during her final months and which helped her to carry on during the difficult times.
It was Josie's wish that she be remembered as the girl who was always smiling.
She will be dearly missed.
My Darling Josie,
We have said goodbye to your earthly body,
But we know that your spirit still walks beside us,
Holding our hands, laughing and loving us the way you always did.
From the day you were born you lit up our lives
And you shone so brightly that you touched a thousand hearts.
You gave us so much more than we could ever have given you.
June says that you chose us for your family,
You must have known that no-one could love you more.
So Thank you Josie, you made us so very proud.
Now your work here is done. You are safe in Gods arms,
Free to run barefoot in the grass,
To swim in the sea and to float on the breeze.
So have fun sweetheart

I had a lovely dream last night
I wish it had come true.
I travelled on a shooting star
and made my way to you.
You welcomed me with open arms
and held me oh so tight.
You took me to a wonderful place
and what a beautiful sight.
The angels were singing quietly
as you took me by the hand.
Into God's Beautiful Garden
a wonderous and pleasant land.
You kissed me softly on the lips
I held you close to me.
I didn't want to let you go
I couldn't set you free.
You told me that you loved me
and would for ever more.
But that I must go back now
and you led me to Heaven's Door.
I floated down upon a cloud
My eyes were filled with tears.
You waved goodbye once again
and said wait a few more years.
As I awoke this morning
and I lay there in my bed
I couldn't help but wonder
at all things you said.
I know you are at peace now,
and I am still your loving wife
I thank the dear Lord up above
for bringing you into my life.
So when my time is over
and I lay my head to rest
I'll go back on that shooting star
To the one I love the best.

I remember seeing Josie on Televison and thinking what a truly amazing beautiful person she was, how courgeous and such a beautiful endearing smile. I have just managed to purchase one of her pendants due to a mix up with e-mails but I will endeavour to bring her charity to as many people as I can and hope in some small way we can help. You will never be forgotton Josie and will stay in our hearts forever. I will always wear my pendant with pride and think of you always. You are the brightest star, the sunniest sunbeam and the raindrop on the rose. Keep drawing angel
