Josie Madeline Grove passed away peacefully with grace and dignity at home in the arms of her family
after a two-and-a-half-year battle with leukaemia. As she had wished, she died at home with her
family.

From the moment she discovered that her treatment had failed she wanted to help other children with
cancer. Through the Strength, Courage and the happiness that shone from within her she became an
inspiration to thousands of people.
She created Josie's dragonfly (a silver pendant )as a lasting legacy so that her fundraising could
continue and grow after she had gone.
Josie's Dragonfly Trust now makes a huge difference to other Children & teenagers with Cancer

Her family would like to thank all of those who gave what can only be described as overwhelming
support during her final months and which helped her to carry on during the difficult times.

It was Josie's wish that she be remembered as the girl who was always smiling.

She will be dearly missed.

My Darling Josie,

We have said goodbye to your earthly body,
But we know that your spirit still walks beside us,
Holding our hands, laughing and loving us the way you always did.

From the day you were born you lit up our lives
And you shone so brightly that you touched a thousand hearts.
You gave us so much more than we could ever have given you.

June says that you chose us for your family,
You must have known that no-one could love you more.
So Thank you Josie, you made us so very proud.

Now your work here is done. You are safe in Gods arms,
Free to run barefoot in the grass,
To swim in the sea and to float on the breeze.

So have fun sweetheart
You’re going to be a real cool Angel!

Love you more.

A wonderful girl

I was sadden to learn of Josies passing, another child taken too soon from this wicked dissease.
When i first read of Josie, and her decission to have no more treatment, i thought what an amazing girl.
Josie is certainley an inspiration to us all.
I know what its like to lose a child from cancer, i lost my 13 year old daughter last year to Ewings Sarcoma.
My thoughts are with you all, may our angels be together xx
