Josie Madeline Grove passed away peacefully with grace and dignity at home in the arms of her family
after a two-and-a-half-year battle with leukaemia. As she had wished, she died at home with her
family.

From the moment she discovered that her treatment had failed she wanted to help other children with
cancer. Through the Strength, Courage and the happiness that shone from within her she became an
inspiration to thousands of people.
She created Josie's dragonfly (a silver pendant )as a lasting legacy so that her fundraising could
continue and grow after she had gone.
Josie's Dragonfly Trust now makes a huge difference to other Children & teenagers with Cancer

Her family would like to thank all of those who gave what can only be described as overwhelming
support during her final months and which helped her to carry on during the difficult times.

It was Josie's wish that she be remembered as the girl who was always smiling.

She will be dearly missed.

My Darling Josie,

We have said goodbye to your earthly body,
But we know that your spirit still walks beside us,
Holding our hands, laughing and loving us the way you always did.

From the day you were born you lit up our lives
And you shone so brightly that you touched a thousand hearts.
You gave us so much more than we could ever have given you.

June says that you chose us for your family,
You must have known that no-one could love you more.
So Thank you Josie, you made us so very proud.

Now your work here is done. You are safe in Gods arms,
Free to run barefoot in the grass,
To swim in the sea and to float on the breeze.

So have fun sweetheart
You’re going to be a real cool Angel!

Love you more.

We saw Josie on the news and our hearts went out to her family, our daughter was diagnosed with Leukaemia at 5 weeks of age, we have had many ups and downs and she too had a bone marrow transplant in dec 2005, she will be 3 this year, children fight on, never complain and nearly always have a smile, its the parents and adults that find it harder.
our thoughts are with you all,
sleep tight Josie, god bless xx

he only takes the best

God could see she was getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
SO He put his arms around her
And softly whispered come with me

With tear filled eyes we watched her
Slowley wither and fade away,
No matter what we did for her,
We could not make her stay.

A golden Heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands put to rest,
He broke our hearts to prove to us
He Only Takes The Best.

Another brave teenager

How proud your parents and family would be of you Josie. You obviously fought hard and strong. I too lost my 16 year old son in Dec 05 to osteo sarcoma. He too fought so hard to keep going, but always with a smile on his face. These youngsters deserve their well earned angel wings. RIP Josie.

My sincere sympathy go ou to Josies family. May she be free from pain and and at rest. I lost my 22 year old brother last year to leukemia he fought it for 16 month but sadly lost his battle with the horible disease last january.
She will be a loss to all her family and friends she seemed such a character. It takes all the best and never the evil. Rest in peace Josie my thoughts are with youre family at this sad time. Lyndsay Carpenter x x

For Josie's family

Although you think i've gone,

and you feel your hearts are breaking

You think i've left you all,

In a world you see as taking.

I know you feel so cheated

from the little time we had,

but this isnt what i want

to make you feel so sad.

Please believe in me

You dont have to let me go,

I live on in your hearts

Please believe that im still with you

and all these words are true,

You once looked after me

Now im looking after you......
